[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Last weekend, a man in his 20s who had inhaled drugs in China scattered about 30 million won in cash from the 30th floor of an apartment building.


According to local media such as Tencent on the 19th, on the afternoon of the 17th, a man threw bundles of 100-yuan bills from the balcony of an apartment in Shapingba District, Chongqing City, China.


The man reportedly took out and scattered 200,000 yuan (about 34 million won) in cash, which he had been keeping for home interior expenses, while in a hallucinatory state after inhaling drugs.


On Weibo, the Chinese version of Twitter, a video was released showing a crowded street with people trying to pick up the 100-yuan bills scattered by the man.


Chinese police, who received the report, have urgently arrested the man on suspicion of drug use and are investigating him.


Additionally, it was reported that after people picked up the scattered cash, about 4,000 yuan (approximately 680,000 won) was recovered.
