[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The 1st National Rope Rescue Competition was successfully held over two days, from the 17th to the 18th, at the Gyeonggi-do Fire School located in Yongin.
Hosted by the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters and organized by the Headquarters' Special Response Team, this competition was established to strengthen on-site response capabilities for rope rescue operations.
The Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters plans to hold the competition annually.
This year, six teams from across the country participated, showcasing five rescue tasks utilizing rope techniques.
The top prize was awarded to the civilian coalition team "Maestro."
A representative from the Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters stated, "We planned this rescue competition using ropes, which are fundamental in life-saving operations," and emphasized, "We will thoroughly prepare to ensure the competition becomes even more substantial in the future."
