[Asia Economy Reporter Geum Bo-ryeong] On the morning of the 19th, the KOSPI index maintained the 2350 level, supported by net buying from institutional investors.


At 9:25 AM, the KOSPI index rose 16.03 points (0.68%) from the previous close to 2357.56. During the session, the KOSPI briefly climbed to 2361, recovering the 2360 level.


The KOSPI opened at 2352.92, up 11.39 points (0.49%) from the previous close, and continued its steady upward trend.


In the KOSPI market, institutions were net buyers of 127.4 billion KRW. In contrast, individuals and foreigners were net sellers of 112.8 billion KRW and 12.9 billion KRW, respectively.


By sector, textiles and apparel (1.33%), machinery (1.15%), and medical precision instruments (1.48%) rose, while chemicals (0.5%) and non-metallic minerals (0.15%) declined.


Among the top 10 companies by market capitalization, Samsung Electronics (0.84%), SK Hynix (1.88%), Samsung Biologics (1.31%), and Celltrion (0.58%) increased. NAVER (0.17%), LG Chem (3.75%), and Hyundai Motor (1.16%) declined.


At the same time, the KOSDAQ index was down 0.96 points (0.12%) from the previous day at 832.88.


The KOSDAQ opened at 836.83, up 2.99 points (0.36%) from the previous trading day, but gradually fell and reversed to a decline.


In the KOSDAQ market, individuals were net buyers of 27 billion KRW. Foreigners and institutions were net sellers of 20.5 billion KRW and 2.2 billion KRW, respectively.


By sector, telecommunications and broadcasting services (1.48%), semiconductors (0.21%), and textiles and apparel (0.97%) rose, while telecommunications equipment (0.89%) and chemicals (0.14%) declined.


Among the top market cap companies, Celltrion Healthcare (1.82%), Celltrion Pharm (0.74%), and CJ ENM (1.75%) rose, while Seegene (0.49%), HLB (3.03%), Alteogen (1.94%), Kakao Games (0.33%), and Genexine (1.54%) declined.
