Operation of Non-Face-to-Face Video Interview Recruitment Booth for 3 Days from 21st to 23rd... Over 40 Companies Directly Participating, Providing Extensive Job Information and Various Employment Opportunities... Diverse Side Events Including Online Job Mentoring and Employment Consulting for Public Service Exam Candidates
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) will hold the '2020 Gangdong Online Job Fair' for three days from the 21st to the 23rd.
About 40 recruiting companies will directly participate in this fair. Every year, more than 1,500 participants, about 803 job registrations, and 500 on-site interviews have connected recruiting companies and job seekers, helping to achieve actual employment.
According to a survey conducted last year, more than 90% of participants expressed their intention to participate in future job fair events. Overcoming difficulties caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the fair will be held online so that interviews between recruiting companies and job seekers can be conducted via video without face-to-face contact.
The district office will also set up separate video interview rooms within the district office for companies and job seekers who find it difficult to operate video interviews on their own. Even middle-aged and older job seekers unfamiliar with video interviews can easily participate with the help of operating staff.
Various companies headquartered in Gangdong-gu, such as Sesco and Wellkips, have expressed their intention to participate in the non-face-to-face corporate recruitment hall.
In addition, a total of about 40 excellent companies will participate.
This fair also includes a program for examinees preparing for civil service exams. Five newly appointed Gangdong-gu civil servants who recently experienced and passed the civil service exam will provide 1:2 group mentoring for exam candidates. They will generously share stories for beginner workers, including study methods, tips for passing, the atmosphere of the public service community, and workplace manners.
Furthermore, various online employment consulting services will be supported, such as resume and self-introduction consulting, career and job change consulting, video fingerprint consulting, and employment horoscope, where practical hiring information and advice are provided by employment and start-up professionals.
Lee Jeong-hoon, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, said, “I hope this fair will provide job seekers with diverse job information and broad job opportunities, and become a practical hiring venue for companies to discover customized talent.” He added, “We will strive to provide better jobs for residents by utilizing local resources and networks.”
