Seo Hoon, Director of the National Security Office at the Blue House, visited the United States last week and met with his counterpart, Robert O'Brien, the White House National Security Advisor. On the 14th (local time), Advisor O'Brien posted a photo taken with Director Seo at the White House on the National Security Council (NSC) Twitter account and announced the meeting, saying, "It was a pleasure to meet my friend and colleague, Director Seo, today." The Blue House announced on the 18th that Robert O'Brien, the U.S. National Security Advisor, has conveyed his intention to visit Korea in November.
Kang Min-seok, the Blue House spokesperson, explained in a briefing that Suh Hoon, the National Security Office Director, met with Advisor O'Brien during his recent visit to the U.S., requested the visit, and received this response.
Spokesperson Kang said, "The significance of Director Suh's recent trip to the U.S. lies in the mutual reaffirmation of the strong Korea-U.S. alliance."
