[Asia Economy Reporter Park So-yeon] SK General Chemical has announced that it will operate a program worth approximately 70 billion KRW over the next three years to support the technological advancement of its partner small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and to help reduce wage disparities.
On the 18th, SK General Chemical revealed that it recently signed the 'Innovation-Driven Wage Gap Reduction Agreement' together with the Win-Win Growth Committee and partner SMEs at the SK Seorin Building in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
SK General Chemical plans to operate the 'Innovation-Driven Win-Win Cooperation Program' worth a total of 73.5 billion KRW over the next three years to assist partner SMEs in enhancing their technological capabilities and support the reduction of wage gaps through strengthened competitiveness.
Through this agreement, SK General Chemical will support partner SMEs by hosting job fairs, providing job training, and assisting with overseas expansion.
Additionally, using a self-established win-win fund, the company will support the salaries of employees at partner SMEs, provide low-interest loans to SMEs, and offer incentives and specialized training to outstanding partner companies.
SK General Chemical also pledged to adhere to the so-called 'Three Principles of Proper Payment' in transactions with partner SMEs: ▲ paying fair prices ▲ paying on time ▲ using win-win payment systems and cash payments.
Kwon Ki-hong, Chairman of the Win-Win Growth Committee, stated, "SK General Chemical is a model company that has received the highest grade in the Win-Win Growth Index for eight consecutive years," adding, "Even in the challenging business environment caused by COVID-19, SK General Chemical employees voluntarily contributed to a fund to support partner companies, which we expect will fully embody the spirit of this agreement."
