Gyeonggi Gwangju SRC Rehabilitation Hospital 15 COVID-19 Cases Confirmed... Total 48 Cases

[Asia Economy Reporter Seo So-jeong] Fifteen additional people tested positive at SRC Rehabilitation Hospital in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province, where a cluster of COVID-19 cases occurred.

Gwangju City in Gyeonggi announced on the 18th that 15 more people tested positive, including three physical therapists, eight patients, three caregivers, and one protector at SRC Rehabilitation Hospital.

At SRC Rehabilitation Hospital, after one caregiver (Gwangju patient number 84) was first confirmed positive on the 16th, infections among 28 people, including caregivers, were confirmed between the 16th and 17th.

Additionally, three family members of patient number 84 and one patient who was discharged on the 12th also tested positive, bringing the total number of confirmed cases related to SRC Rehabilitation Hospital to 48.

Health authorities have cohort-isolated two wards where patient number 84 worked out of the five wards in total and are conducting comprehensive testing.

In particular, since about 80 employees of SRC Nursing Hospital adjacent to SRC Rehabilitation Hospital commute between the two hospitals, the number of confirmed cases may increase further.
