"Efforts to Create a Work-Life Balance Labor Environment and Corporate Culture"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-joo] The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family announced on the 15th that it will sign a voluntary agreement on the 16th at the Government Seoul Office to secure gender balance within companies in the information and communication technology (ICT) sector among small and medium venture enterprises.
The companies participating in the agreement are ▲Gomano ▲Doremifa ▲Studio Seed Korea ▲Wayne Hills Ventures ▲G-Drone ▲Twiny, totaling six firms. These companies have agreed to create a work-life balance environment and corporate culture to expand female workforce in the ICT sector among small and medium venture enterprises.
Kim Areum, CEO of Doremifa, said, "We will strive to become a leading company in the information and communication field by fostering a corporate culture where passion can be expressed and abilities recognized regardless of gender." Park Min-kyung, CEO of G-Drone, stated, "To support work-family balance, we will create a flexible work environment such as flexible working hours, autonomous attendance, and rest weeks, enabling couples to share childcare responsibilities."
Lee Jung-ok, Minister of Gender Equality and Family, said, "Information and communication technology is very important as a future growth engine of the Korean economy in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution and is a promising occupation with many development opportunities for youth and women. We will strive to spread a gender-balanced culture through customized consulting."
