[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Seul-gi] Fast food company Lotteria has begun deleting social network service (SNS) promotional content related to former Captain Lee Geun of 'Fake Men.' This move is interpreted as a consideration of product reputation amid ongoing controversies surrounding Captain Lee, including debt issues and a history of sexual assault trials.
A Lotteria official stated to Sports Kyunghyang on the 13th, "Controversies surrounding Captain Lee have been continuously emerging recently," adding, "We are currently organizing promotional content related to him in consideration of the brand image."
Lotteria has set the 'Military Burger' YouTube content series featuring Captain Lee to private. They are also deleting or modifying promotional materials featuring him on their official SNS channels.
Recently, Captain Lee has faced allegations including false career claims and sexual assault.
In response, Captain Lee stated on his YouTube channel that day, "All claims regarding my career and academic background, including those related to the UN, are untrue," but acknowledged the allegation of receiving a fine for sexual assault, saying, "I was punished for an assault incident in a public place, a club, in 2018."
However, he expressed, "Although I had no choice but to follow the court's judgment, I feel extremely wronged in light of my conscience, and I cannot accept it; it is regrettable and terrible."
