[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] KTH and the KTH Labor Union announced on the 13th that they conducted the ‘K Shopping Media Center Online Tour’ for children and adolescents living in group homes (family-type communal living facilities) in the Seoul area.

Until last year, they had invited group home students to the K Shopping Media Center to tour the home shopping studio and held various cultural experience events, but this year, for the health and safety of the students, they planned an ‘ontact’ social contribution activity using an online platform.

KTH labor and management, together with the KT Group Hope Sharing Foundation, produced a video of the ‘K Shopping Media Center Online Tour’ introducing the home shopping production environment and broadcasting-related jobs, and provided it to children and adolescents at 17 group homes in Seoul.

The video included a professional introduction to the broadcasting environment such as the studio where home shopping broadcasts are filmed, the transmission system, and chroma key technology, as well as interviews with broadcasting experts such as PDs, MDs, shopping hosts, and directors, capturing not only fun and vividness but also educational value.

Along with this, various ‘stay-at-home’ gifts such as fruit sets sold by the premium fresh food brand ‘K Shopping Farmers,’ lip balm making kits, and board games, as well as mugs personally made by KTH employees, were delivered. Since March, when the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) spread, KTH has continuously donated items such as cloth masks and figure soaps made by employees through remote volunteer activities, adding a warm meaning of sharing.

Lee Piljae, CEO of KTH, stated, “Even in these difficult times due to COVID-19, we will continue to practice various sharing activities linked to our business together with our employees.”
