Hankook Tire 'Kinergy 4S 2' Receives 'Highly Recommended' Rating from UK Trade Magazine

Ranked 2nd Among 9 Final Tires in First Test

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Hankook Tire & Technology announced on the 13th that its all-season tire ‘Kinergy 4S 2’ received a ‘Highly Recommended’ rating in the ‘2020 All-Season Tire Test’ conducted by the UK tire specialist media Tire Review.

In this evaluation, the Kinergy 4S 2 ranked 2nd among the final 9 tires that passed the first round of testing. It received high scores for stable and balanced performance under various road conditions.

The Kinergy 4S 2, part of the Kinergy All Weather product line, was first launched in the European market and recorded high sales, before being released domestically last December. It is the first all-season tire in Korea to obtain the ‘3PMSF’ certification mark, a mandatory certification for winter tires in Europe, and offers excellent performance by providing stable driving on dry, wet, and snowy roads.

It is also characterized by maintaining optimal performance despite climate changes, from the summer monsoon season to snowy winter roads. The tire features wide grooves in the center of the tread to improve water drainage performance, and a cross-shaped V-groove pattern to deliver excellent snow traction and handling. Additionally, it uses a new Aqua Fine compound with a high content of natural materials to prevent hardening at low temperatures, thereby enhancing grip.

Previously, the Kinergy 4S 2 received a ‘Recommended’ rating in the 2019 all-season tire test conducted by Auto Bild, Europe’s most prestigious automotive magazine, and won the main prize at the 2019 German iF Design Award.
