Yeongdeungpo-gu Hotel Bridge Designated as Safe Accommodation

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Chaehyunil·photo) is operating the newly designated "Family Safe Accommodation" at "Hotel Bridge" located in Yangpyeong-dong to block the spread of COVID-19 infections among families.

The "Family Safe Accommodation" is intended to separate cohabiting family members from those quarantined when overseas entrants self-isolate at home, thereby preventing infection risks. The hotel is expected to revitalize the stagnant tourism accommodation industry by attracting new guests.

The district had been operating Family Safe Accommodations starting with a business agreement with Toyoko Inn Seoul Yeongdeungpo in April, but the operation was suspended after the MOU with the hotel ended in September.

Accordingly, the district quickly began searching for a new safe accommodation and signed a business agreement with "Hotel Bridge" on September 25 to designate it as a safe accommodation.

The newly designated Hotel Bridge (9 Yeongdeungpo-ro) is a tourist hotel located in Yangpyeong-dong. It is relatively new, boasting clean and comfortable rooms and facilities. It has a total of 83 rooms, all equipped with ondol (traditional Korean heated floors) for user convenience.

It is also close to Yangpyeong Station on Line 5, offering good accessibility, and is located in a residential area, providing a quiet and safe environment suitable for family use.

Through this agreement, families of overseas entrants can stay in the Deluxe Family Twin rooms at a discounted rate of 40,000 KRW per night, which is 56% off the regular price. There is no limit on the number of nights, and up to three people can stay per room.

Those wishing to use the accommodation must bring the entrant’s flight ticket along with the family member’s ID and documents proving family relations, such as a family relation certificate or resident registration.

Additionally, the district will continue to promote the Family Safe Accommodation, support disinfection and quarantine of hotel facilities, and strive to provide convenience to users through regular inspections and consultations.

Yeongdeungpo District Mayor Chaehyunil stated, “The designation of Family Safe Accommodations will play a significant role in preventing the spread of COVID-19 in the community and protecting the safety of residents,” adding, “We will do our best to support quarantine efforts and revitalize the local economy until the end of COVID-19.”
