LG Electronics will officially launch the LG Pra.L MediHair at the end of this month. Models are introducing the LG Pra.L MediHair.

[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] LG Electronics announced on the 12th that it will select a total of 100 customers who sent stories about their hair loss concerns and provide them with the LG Pra.L MediHair free of charge ahead of the official launch of LG Pra.L MediHair at the end of this month.

Customers can participate by accessing the LG Pra.L MediHair event page and submitting their stories.

LG Pra.L MediHair is a helmet-type medical device for hair loss treatment. It has received medical device approval as a Class 3 medical laser device from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and has been authorized as a home-use medical device by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The product utilizes low-level laser therapy (LLLT). The energy emitted from a total of 250 light sources, including 146 lasers and 104 LEDs, activates the metabolism of follicle cells surrounding the hair roots, promoting hair growth. It also slows the progression of androgenic alopecia, which causes a decrease in hair density.

The light sources are concentrated on areas where hair loss mainly occurs, such as the crown and front of the head. In particular, the independently developed light source technology, for which patents have been filed?including a scalp beauty device, a scalp care light output device, and its control method?helps ensure that light is evenly delivered to the areas requiring care.

According to clinical results conducted by LG Electronics at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital on 46 adult men and women, participants who used LG Pra.L MediHair in a 27-minute mode three times a week for a total of 16 weeks experienced a 21.64% increase in hair density per square centimeter (㎠) compared to before use. Hair thickness also increased by 19.46%.

Users can select from three modes depending on the hair loss area: Total Care, which manages the entire scalp; Front Care, which focuses on the front and top hair; and Top Care, which manages the top and crown areas. Using the My Care mode, the sensors embedded in the product detect the user's hair loss areas and recommend the optimal mode.

Additionally, the ‘wear detection sensor,’ which allows the device to operate only when properly worn, and the ‘band adjustment dial,’ which adjusts the product size to fit the head circumference, help customers wear and use the product correctly.

Donggi Son, Executive Director of Korea HE Marketing at LG Electronics, said, “LG Pra.L MediHair is a hair loss treatment medical device that customers can use with confidence,” adding, “We will actively promote the efficacy and safety of the new product through various marketing efforts that meet customer needs.”
