'BTS Map of the Soul One' AR·XR Applied Video Broadcast in 4K·HD
Production Cost Eight Times Higher Than 'Bang Bang Con The Live'
The group BTS will present a large-scale online concert today (the 10th) from 7 PM for about two hours. It is titled ‘BTS MAP OF THE SOUL ON:E’. The production cost invested is eight times higher than that of ‘BangBangCon The Live’ held last June, which attracted 750,000 viewers worldwide. The agency Big Hit Entertainment announced, “Since this is a unique online edition performance, it will be a grander and more visually rich show.”
‘BTS MAP OF THE SOUL ON:E’ took about a year to prepare. Originally, there were plans to hold offline concerts simultaneously, but due to the spread of COVID-19, it was decided to proceed only with online streaming services. Videos incorporating augmented reality (AR) and extended reality (XR) will be broadcast in 4K and HD high definition. A ‘multi-view live streaming’ service will also be provided, allowing viewers to select from six different camera angles in real time.
BTS will perform various music and performances on four large stages. Big Hit Entertainment explained, “We plan to show stages that have never been revealed before,” and added, “The set lists for the first and second day (the 11th) performances have been changed.”
