[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] On the 10th, Heo Eun-ah, a member of the People Power Party, criticized the ‘Democratic Meritorious Person Treatment Act’ proposed by Woo Won-shik of the Democratic Party of Korea, saying, “In Korea, children of noble labor unions receive special privileges, the daughter of former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk and the son of Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae enjoy the benefits of power, and even children of civic group officials try to enter public medical schools,” and urged, “Make sure to pass it.”

On the same day, Representative Heo said on Facebook, “I know well that you are not the 586 generation who would feel guilty about the carp, crayfish, and frogs living in the stream making noise, nor will you be defeated just because you oppose it,” and added, “Isn't the 180 seats held by the pro-government camp meant to be used at times like this?”

Heo said, “As has been done so far, use the power of the 180-seat supermajority ruling party to pass the bill,” and pointed out, “Since the witch hunt called purging deep-rooted evils is over, shouldn’t you now collect the spoils?”

Heo stated, “Pronounce death on the vanished justice, close the coffin lid on the dead fairness, and declare to the people that the era of democracy is over and that the era of gatekeeping left-wing power by the 586 generation and activists has begun,” and warned, “Remember this as well: regimes are finite and power is transient. The people's resentment will become the people's power and return again.”
