[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] U.S. President Donald Trump announced on the 8th (local time) his intention to return to the presidential campaign rallies this weekend.
President Trump was hospitalized after being infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) but was discharged after three days and returned to the White House.
In a phone interview with Fox News, President Trump said, "I will attend the campaign rally in Florida on Saturday night (the 10th), and the next night, I will participate in the Pennsylvania rally," according to reports by the AP News.
President Trump stated, "My health condition is very good and seems perfect," adding, "I will take another COVID-19 test on the 9th."
He also claimed, "I feel so good that I could attend a rally even tonight," and "I don't think I will transmit COVID-19 to others."
Amid ongoing concerns about the possibility of COVID-19 transmission by President Trump, this is interpreted as his intention to resume full-scale campaigning from the 10th after a COVID-19 test on the 9th.
The White House medical team stated that according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, which allow lifting isolation 10 days after symptom onset and recovery, President Trump can resume work from the 10th.
Sean Conley, President Trump's personal physician, said in a statement released through the White House on the same day, "President Trump has completed the entire COVID-19 treatment process," adding, "Since returning from the hospital to the White House, he has shown a stable condition with no further signs of COVID-19 progression. He will be able to attend official schedules starting Saturday."
