[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-joo] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), which had been on a downward trend, continues to appear sporadically.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters (CDCH) announced on the 30th at 12 noon that the cumulative number of confirmed cases related to the residential-commercial complex 'Daewoo Dioville Plus' in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, increased by 2, reaching a total of 54. Among them, 28 are workers or visitors in the building, and 26 are family members or acquaintances.
The total number of confirmed cases related to 'Dana Hospital,' a psychiatric specialty hospital in Dobong-gu, is 30, all of whom are patients of the hospital. The health authorities are currently investigating the exact source and route of infection. A CDCH official urged, "Anyone who visited Dana Hospital between September 15 and 29, regardless of symptoms, should get tested at the nearest public health center."
In the metropolitan area, confirmed cases continued mainly around existing cluster infection cases. In the infection case related to 'Yemaru Daycare Center' in Dobong-gu, the number of confirmed cases increased by 3, totaling 30. Among the confirmed cases, including the index patient (the first patient), 9 are center users, 6 are workers, and 7 are family members or acquaintances. Regarding the Hwangsil Sauna, which was visited by confirmed daycare center users, a total of 8 people were confirmed positive. Additionally, one more case was added related to a weekly care center in Icheon-si, Gyeonggi Province, increasing the cumulative confirmed cases to 26.

Meanwhile, the proportion of 'unclear' patients whose infection routes are unknown fell below 20% for the first time in about a month. Among the 1,308 new confirmed cases reported from the 17th of this month to today, 249 cases are still under investigation for infection routes, accounting for 19.0%. This is a 1.5 percentage point decrease compared to the previous day (20.5%). This rate had remained above 20% since the 30th of last month (21.5%) and even surged to 28.1% at one point but has been gradually decreasing recently.
Among the 113 new confirmed cases as of midnight today, 77 are male and 36 are female.
By age group, those in their 50s were the most at 26, followed by 30s and 40s with 20 each, 60s with 18, 70s with 9, and 20s with 8. There were also 5 patients under the age of 10.
