Department Stores, Outlets, and Some Large Marts Closed on Chuseok Day

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] Department stores, large supermarkets, and outlets will close for one or two days during the Chuseok holiday period.

According to the distribution industry on the 30th, all department stores will be closed on Chuseok day. Lotte Department Store will be closed for two days starting from that day. However, the Bundang Branch, Centum City Branch, and Masan Branch will be closed on October 1-2.

Shinsegae Department Store will close all 12 stores on Chuseok day. The main branch will be closed for an additional two days. Except for the Hanam Branch, the other 10 stores were also closed today. Starfield will open two hours later than usual at noon on Chuseok day.

Hyundai Department Store will close for two days depending on the store. The 10 stores including Trade Center Branch, Cheonho Branch, Mokdong Branch, Jungdong Branch, Kintex Branch, Pangyo Branch, Busan Branch, Daegu Branch, Ulsan Branch, and Chungcheong Branch will be closed the day before and on Chuseok day, while the 5 stores including Apgujeong Main Branch, Sinchon Branch, Mia Branch, D-Cube City, and Ulsan Dong-gu Branch will be closed on Chuseok day and the following day.

Lotte and Hyundai Outlets will be closed only on Chuseok day.

Some large supermarkets will be closed on Chuseok day. Among 141 Emart stores, 46 will be closed. Among 19 Traders stores, 9 including Kintex Branch and Hanam Branch will be closed.

Homeplus will close only 27 stores including Gangdong Branch and Kintex Branch. Among 116 Lotte Mart stores, 30 will be closed.
