Muan-gun Receives Top Award in Civil Defense Special Inspection Evaluation

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Muan County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 30th that it was selected as the best institution among 22 cities and counties in Jeollanam-do in the 2020 Civil Defense Special Inspection Evaluation conducted by Jeollanam-do, and received the Best Award in the Civil Defense Service Merit category on the 29th.

The county received excellent evaluations in areas such as civil defense warehouse management, resident evacuation facility management, emergency water supply facility management, and emergency evacuation plan establishment during this inspection.

In particular, it was highly praised for securing dedicated spaces for civil defense equipment, gas masks, and chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) squad equipment in the civil defense warehouses of each eup and myeon, and for storing and managing appropriate quantities separated by item according to requirements.

A county official said, “Civil defense facilities are resources to efficiently protect residents' lives and property in emergencies such as war and destruction of water supply systems,” and added, “We will continue to maintain facilities and equipment in optimal condition to respond immediately to any urgent disaster for the residents.”
