Seocho-gu Provides Mask Kits to Childcare Workers and Children in User Families

Support of KF Masks and Antibacterial Pouches to 239 Idolbomi and 467 Children in Families Using Idolbom Services

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seocho-gu (Mayor Eunhee Jo) provided masks and antibacterial pouches to 239 childcare workers and 467 children from families using childcare services to prevent the spread of COVID-19 ahead of the two-week Chuseok special quarantine period.

In particular, the district supported childcare workers, who are doing their best to care for children while refraining from personal outings or gatherings, especially in dual-income families that require care during the COVID-19 situation, by providing 10 KF masks and portable antibacterial pouches.

The masks and pouches for children using childcare services were directly delivered by the childcare workers when visiting the homes to care for the children.

The district anticipated that while many residents would participate in special quarantine measures such as refraining from travel during the Chuseok holiday period, unavoidable small family gatherings might occur, so masks were provided to childcare workers and children receiving care.

Ms. Naeun Kim (pseudonym), a user of the childcare service, said, “With the strengthening of social distancing to level 2, schools closed and I still had to go to work, so I had nowhere to leave my child and was very anxious. Seocho-gu dispatched 119 childcare workers, which allowed me to work at ease, and I was deeply moved by the support of masks and antibacterial pouches.”

Previously, the district supported all childcare workers with portable quarantine pouches (including masks, thermometers, and hand sanitizers) and vaccination fees so that families using childcare services could safely entrust their children.

Eunhee Jo, Mayor of Seocho-gu, said, “Families with children are especially worried due to COVID-19. We will do our best to implement more thorough quarantine measures to ease the concerns of parents entrusting their children and to protect the health of childcare workers.”
