Jeonnam Central Child Protection Agency - Hampyeong-gun Hold Meeting on Child Abuse Response

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] The Jeonnam Central Region Child Protection Agency (Director Yoo Kiyong) announced on the 29th that it held a meeting at Hampyeong County Office (County Governor Lee Sangik) to discuss the reorganization of the child abuse response system.

At the meeting, participants shared information on the reorganization of the child abuse response system announced through the inclusive national child policy, the current status of child abuse in Hampyeong County, and the progress of the publicization policy for child abuse investigations. They also discussed the roles of the public and private sectors in practical issues arising from the changing child abuse response system, as well as operational plans and directions.

Hampyeong County has been selected as a leading region for the publicization of child abuse investigations, and from October this year, public officials will directly conduct child abuse investigation tasks. Additionally, child protection officers supporting children protected in child care facilities will be deployed on site, so the existing Child Protection Agency will serve as a case management service agency supporting families affected by abuse.

Yoo Kiyong, Director of the Jeonnam Central Region Child Protection Agency, said, “As the reorganization of the child abuse response system makes cooperation between the public and private sectors very important, we held this meeting to effectively respond to child abuse cases. Through this meeting, we will actively support the stable establishment of publicization and expect organic cooperation between local governments and the Child Protection Agency in the child abuse response system.”
