[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Hankook Tire & Technology (hereinafter Hankook Tire) announced that it will officially sponsor the 2020 Major League Baseball (MLB) Wild Card Series in the United States, starting on the 29th (local time), strengthening its status as a global premium brand.


The 2020 MLB Wild Card Series will be expanded from the original 4 teams to 16 teams due to the impact of COVID-19 and will be held in a tournament series format. A total of 16 teams, 8 from the American League and 8 from the National League, will participate, and the series will be played in a best-of-three format.


Since 2018, Hankook Tire has been an official sponsor of MLB, recognized as the top professional sport in the United States, solidifying its status as a global company in advanced automotive markets.
