Imsil-gun Honored as Best Institution for Agricultural Machinery Rental Business for 3 Consecutive Years

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil County has been honored as the nation's best agricultural machinery rental center for three consecutive years.

According to the county on the 28th, in the recent nationwide evaluation of local government agricultural machinery rental centers conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Imsil County was selected as the best agricultural machinery rental center in 2018 and 2019, and was again selected as an A-grade top institution in the 2020 evaluation.

In this evaluation, 469 rental centers in 141 cities and counties nationwide were assessed, and after selecting 100 cities and counties, A, B, and C grades were determined. Imsil County received an A grade and will receive 200 million KRW in national project funds.

The County Agricultural Technology Center operates four agricultural machinery rental zones to discover projects focused on farmer convenience and to realize enjoyable farming, renting out 837 units of 22 types of rental agricultural machinery, achieving about 10,000 rental cases annually.

Additionally, considering the farming conditions of farmers, an efficient farming work delegation team is operated, proactively managing barley and wheat harvesting, summer forage harvesting, and agricultural machinery work for elderly and small-scale farmers, which is evaluated as a specialized project for rural areas that could be structurally shrinking socially.

The Agricultural Machinery Management Team at the County Agricultural Technology Center operates holiday work during the five-month busy farming season to benefit farmers, receiving great responses, and carries out various rural guidance projects such as agricultural machinery safety use education during the off-season, mobile repair education, small special agricultural machinery training, and agricultural machinery driving training for Agricultural Technology Center staff.

In particular, this year, in response to the spread of COVID-19 infection, a full implementation of half-price rental for agricultural machinery was carried out, which has been highly evaluated for its proactive responsiveness that satisfies farmers.

County Governor Shim Min said, “I commend the efforts of the staff of the Imsil County Agricultural Machinery Rental Center for receiving the top grade for three consecutive years, and ask them to do their best so that farmers lack nothing in their farming.” He added, “Please operate the agricultural machinery rental center creatively to build ‘One united, happy Imsil,’ the administrative goal of the 7th elected term.”
