Gwangjin-gu Supports Commission Fees for Elevator Safety Inspection Outsourcing for Good Landlords

The Government and Seoul City Launch Separate 'Gwangjin-type Good Landlord Win-Win Cooperation Movement'...Support for 'Gwangjin-type Small Business Landlord Finance' for Small Businesses Also Engaged in Real Estate Leasing

Gwangjin-gu Supports Commission Fees for Elevator Safety Inspection Outsourcing for Good Landlords

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) is promoting the ‘Gwangjin-type Good Landlord Win-Win Cooperation Movement’ to reduce the rent burden for small business tenant landlords facing economic difficulties due to COVID-19 and to help stabilize their livelihoods.

First, on the 28th, the district held a ‘Good Landlord Win-Win Cooperation Meeting’ at the district office planning situation room with the attendance of the president and executives of the Gwangjin-gu Chamber of Commerce to encourage participation in the Good Landlord Movement, promote its cultural establishment, and request cooperation.

Also, in early October, a ‘Good Landlord Win-Win Cooperation Agreement Ceremony’ will be held targeting large stores in the region to overcome difficulties together.

In addition, separate from projects conducted by the government and Seoul city, the ‘Gwangjin-type Good Landlord Win-Win Cooperation Movement’ will be promoted starting in October.

Accordingly, the district will support landlords participating in the Good Landlord Win-Win Cooperation Movement by providing a monthly fee of up to 100,000 KRW for three months from October to December for building owners’ elevator self-safety inspection consignment fees, and will also provide ‘Gwangjin-type Small Business Landlord’ financial support.

The ‘Gwangjin-type Small Business Landlord’ financial support is a project that provides loans up to 20 million KRW to landlords and tenants if small business operators located in Gwangjin-gu who also engage in real estate leasing reduce rent by 10% or more or sign a rent reduction agreement.

Furthermore, to enhance the self-sustainability of stores with sharply decreased sales and revitalize commercial districts, a ‘Our Neighborhood Good Landlord Certification Event’ will be promoted targeting Good Landlord buildings.

The ‘Our Neighborhood Good Landlord Certification Event’ will operate by awarding 10,000 KRW worth of Gwangjin Love gift certificates weekly to 30 people selected by lottery for two months from November to December, who certify their purchase receipts and reviews after using stores in Good Landlord buildings.

Along with this, through discovering good landlord stories by neighborhood, the district plans to select and award ‘Citizen Commendations’ to meritorious persons who contributed to overcoming COVID-19 and the development of the local economy.

Kim Seon-gap, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We thank the landlords who provide strong support to small business owners and self-employed people in distress,” and added, “The district will also devise and strengthen various supports so that small business owners can operate their stores with self-sustainability.”
