[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is implementing a comprehensive Chuseok holiday plan focusing on quarantine measures at major local tourist attractions such as Donguibogam Village and Namsa Yedam Village.

To prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the county is carrying out pre-holiday disinfection as well as comprehensive measures during the holiday period, including environmental maintenance and facility management at Donguibogam Village.

During the holiday period from the 30th to October 4th, a five-day emergency duty team of about 9 people per day (a total of 44 people) will be organized to inspect and manage major facilities within Donguibogam Village, clean restrooms, maintain the environment, and conduct disinfection activities targeting key facilities.

The facilities subject to quarantine and management include major buildings such as the Expo Theme Pavilion, the Korean Medicine Museum, and Dongui Hall, as well as sculptures like the Bear Observatory and the Golden Turtle, and lodging facilities such as the Oriental Medicine Natural Recreation Forest.

During the Chuseok holiday, most private and consigned facilities such as restaurants and sales outlets within Donguibogam Village will operate normally, with some exceptions.

Along with Donguibogam Village, the county will also carry out continuous daily quarantine and environmental maintenance at major local tourist sites such as Namsa Yedam Village throughout the holiday period.

A county official stated, “We will strive to create a safe environment for tourism by inspecting compliance with quarantine guidelines and implementing daily quarantine measures at major tourist sites expected to see an increase in visitors during the Chuseok holiday. We also ask visitors to Sancheong during the holiday to adhere to personal quarantine rules such as wearing masks and using hand sanitizer.”
