KMA Announces Weather Forecast for Chuseok Holiday Period
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] On Chuseok day, the sky across the country will be mostly cloudy, but the full moon will be visible through the clouds.
The Korea Meteorological Administration announced the weather forecast for the Chuseok holiday period on the 28th.
On the first day of the Chuseok holiday, the 29th, the weather will be mostly cloudy nationwide. On the 30th, clouds will remain widespread, with rain expected mainly in the central regions in the afternoon.
On Chuseok day, the 1st of next month, the sky will be mostly cloudy nationwide, but the full moon will be visible through the clouds. In the central regions, the full moon will be visible through the clouds in the evening, but it is expected to become increasingly cloudy around midnight, making it difficult to see the full moon. In the southern regions, the full moon will be visible through low clouds during the day.
On the day after Chuseok, the 2nd, rain will fall in the afternoon in Seoul, Gyeonggi Province, and Gangwon Yeongseo, and on the 3rd, rain will occur in the morning in Chungcheong Province and Jeolla Province, and in the afternoon on Jeju Island. Rain is expected to continue on Jeju until the 4th.
During the holiday period, daytime temperatures will gradually decrease in most parts of the country, with temperature differences between day and night exceeding 10 degrees Celsius, especially inland. In particular, on the 3rd and 4th, daytime temperatures in the central regions will remain below 20 degrees Celsius, making it cooler than usual for this time of year. Gangwon Yeongdong will be chilly during the holiday, but daytime temperatures on the 2nd are expected to be around 25 degrees Celsius.
