Supporting Commercial Area Revitalization through Market Environment Improvement
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi]IBK Industrial Bank announced on the 28th that through the ‘IBK Hope Design’ project, it has newly designed, produced, and replaced the front signs and awnings of 157 stores in the ‘Gurye 5-Day Market’ in Jeollanam-do.
This project was carried out to revitalize the commercial district in areas densely populated by small merchants through environmental improvement. Gurye 5-Day Market, a traditional market officially established in 1959, has been facing difficulties this year due to the spread of COVID-19 and flood damage.
On the same day, IBK held an event to wish for a new start for Gurye 5-Day Market. Attendees included Yoon Jong-won, President of IBK Industrial Bank, Lee Eul-jae, Chairman of the Gurye 5-Day Market Merchants Association, and Kim Soon-ho, Governor of Gurye County.
President Yoon said, “We will continue to expand social contribution activities to revive the local commercial district and coexist with small business owners,” adding, “As a corporate citizen, we will fulfill our social responsibilities and strive for responsible and inclusive management that strengthens inclusion for socially vulnerable groups.”
