Song Young-sook Appointed Chairman of Hanmi Pharmaceutical Group and CEO of Hanmi Science

HanmiScience Appoints Song Youngsuk and Lim Jongyun as Co-CEOs; Lim Juhyun Named Vice President and Registered Director of HanmiScience

[Asia Economy Reporter Seo So-jeong] Hanmi Science, the holding company of Hanmi Pharmaceutical Group, announced on the 28th that it appointed Song Young-sook, the wife of the late Chairman Lim Seong-gi, as CEO through a board meeting. Accordingly, Hanmi Science will be jointly managed by the newly appointed CEO Song Young-sook and the existing CEO Lim Jong-yoon as co-CEOs.

CEO Song previously served as Chairperson of the Gahyeon Cultural Foundation and advisor (in charge of CSR) for Hanmi Pharmaceutical. On August 10, she was appointed as Chairperson of Hanmi Pharmaceutical Group. With her new role as CEO of Hanmi Science, she will oversee both the holding company and the operating companies.

Prior to the board meeting, Hanmi Science held an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders on the same day and appointed Chairperson Song and Vice President Lim Joo-hyun, Head of Global Strategy and HRD at Hanmi Pharmaceutical, as registered directors of Hanmi Science.

Hanmi Science stated, “The combined diverse abilities and experiences of co-CEOs Song Young-sook and Lim Jong-yoon are expected to create synergy in management and decision-making, further growing Hanmi Pharmaceutical Group as a holding company.” They added, “We will do our best to become a morally responsible company that upholds the value of ‘enhancing human health’ through responsible management.”
