Busan Gijang-gun Prepares Comprehensive Measures for COVID-19 Prevention and Chuseok Holiday Busan Gijang County Office.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan Gijang-gun has prepared a ‘Chuseok Holiday Comprehensive Plan’ to ensure that residents can spend a comfortable and safe holiday ahead of the Chuseok holiday.

Until October 4, six areas of measures will be implemented: ▲ disaster and safety management, ▲ stabilization of the living economy, ▲ traffic and transportation measures, ▲ emergency medical treatment measures, ▲ rapid handling of environmental maintenance and civil complaints, and ▲ spreading a culture of sharing for the underprivileged.

During the Chuseok holiday, COVID-19 prevention measures have been prepared in anticipation of a resurgence of COVID-19. Until the 29th, intensive disinfection will be carried out by the Gijang-gun Infectious Disease Prevention Team and the five eup/myeon disinfection teams at 1,316 medium- and high-risk multi-use facilities within the jurisdiction where family and relatives are expected to visit, as well as at ancestral grave and columbarium facilities where visitors sharply increase during Chuseok.

From the 30th to the 4th of next month, two COVID-19 screening clinics will be operated. The public health center screening clinic will operate from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM (excluding lunch break from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM), and the screening clinic at the Dongnam Institute of Radiological & Medical Sciences will operate from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

A monitoring team for managing those in self-quarantine, including 24-hour monitoring of self-quarantined individuals, will also be operated, and a COVID-19 emergency response team of 69 members will be deployed to respond quickly in case of confirmed COVID-19 cases.

To strengthen various disaster prevention and safety management activities, a total of 77 people in five task forces ? the general control team, disaster situation team, traffic measures team, environmental cleaning team, and emergency medical treatment team ? will be on emergency duty.

Oh Gyu-seok, Gijang-gun governor, said, “During the Chuseok holiday, we must strictly adhere to the core COVID-19 prevention rules such as wearing masks and using hand sanitizers in preparation for a resurgence of COVID-19,” adding, “We will systematically implement the comprehensive Chuseok holiday plan for safety, prices, traffic, and support for the common people to ensure a safe holiday.”

All six public and private columbarium and cemetery facilities (Yeongnak Park, Memorial Park, Siloam Park Cemetery, Baegun 1 & 2 Park Cemetery, Daejeong Park Cemetery, Sowonsa Columbarium) will be closed during the holiday period.

Gijang-gun plans to continue the strong quarantine rules equivalent to Social Distancing Level 3, which have been in effect since August 18, until COVID-19 stabilizes.
