[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] Changwon City in Gyeongnam announced on the 28th that it will issue an additional 30 billion won worth of Nubi-jeon to promote local consumption and increase sales for small business owners.
Sales will begin on the 7th of next month. This additional issuance of Nubi-jeon is a decision made in response to the prolonged economic downturn caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), and will be funded through the second supplementary budget. With an 8% special subsidy from the national government, a 10% discount will continue until the funds are exhausted.
Currently, Changwon City's Nubi-jeon sales agencies include 224 locations such as BNK Gyeongnam Bank and NongHyup. There are 46,156 paper-based franchise stores and 34,921 mobile franchise stores, making it the region with the largest number of sales agencies and franchise stores nationwide.
Mobile Nubi-jeon can be purchased through 13 apps including the Gyeongnam regional gift certificate, Gyeongnam Bank mobile banking, and All One Bank (NongHyup), with a purchase limit of 500,000 won each for paper and mobile versions.
Kim Bu-sik, head of the Economic Revitalization Division, stated, "To facilitate convenient use and promote franchise stores of Nubi-jeon, we plan to open a dedicated Nubi-jeon app in November to make purchasing and using Nubi-jeon more convenient." He added, "We will continue monitoring franchise stores for sound distribution of Nubi-jeon to establish it as the representative consumption method for Changwon citizens."
