[Asia Economy Reporter Junho Hwang] Jeong Byeong-seon, the 1st Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and ICT, attended the 'Science Culture City Proclamation Ceremony' held at the Youth Training Center in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon on the 28th. The Science Culture City project is a new initiative launched this year to enhance residents' opportunities to experience science culture and to elevate the city's brand by hosting various science culture programs and science festivals led by local science organizations and citizens.
This year, Yuseong-gu in Daejeon was selected and will hold science culture programs such as the Nobel Science Classroom and One-Day Intern, as well as the Yuseong Science Village Festival, which includes the Yuseong Tea Table Science Camp and the Tandongcheon Maple Road Walking Event. The Ministry of Science and ICT selects a Science Culture City annually.
Vice Minister Jeong said, "I extend my congratulations to Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, selected as a Science Culture City, and noted that various science culture programs have been prepared for local residents in Yuseong-gu," adding, "Going forward, the government will do its best to create an environment where science and technology can be easily accessible anywhere."
