Parents of infants and toddlers at a daycare center in Dobong-gu received a healthy snack package on the 25th.
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dobong-gu (Mayor Lee Dong-jin) is delivering healthy snack packages to support young children and parents who are exhausted from the prolonged closure of daycare centers due to COVID-19 and the resulting COVID blues phenomenon.
So far, the district has been providing eco-friendly snack expenses every month to daycare centers for young children to ensure that growing children receive healthy food and grow strong.
This year, together with the Dobong-gu Daycare Center Association (public, private, and home-based), they will distribute healthy snack packages using part of the eco-friendly snack expenses to promote emotional stability for parents and children and create a healthy home childcare environment. This is in consideration of the low attendance rate at daycare centers due to COVID-19.
The healthy snack packages are freely composed by each daycare center with eco-friendly ingredients, dairy products, and more. They will be provided through methods such as drive-through or direct delivery at pick-up time.
The target is approximately 6,600 young children enrolled in 212 daycare centers. Distribution is scheduled to be completed by the 29th, ahead of Chuseok, through the daycare centers.
Lee Dong-jin, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “I deeply appreciate the hard work of childcare staff who are dedicated to daycare center quarantine, hygiene, and childcare for young children. I expect that delivering healthy snack packages will bring health to young children and offer a small comfort and strength to parents.”
