[Asia Economy Reporter Nah Han-ah] Ahn Cheol-soo, leader of the People’s Party, criticized Professor Dan-guk-dae of Dankook University College of Medicine’s statement that "the government spent more than 120 billion won on K-quarantine promotion," saying, "The government’s COVID-19 response takes credit for successes but blames others for mistakes," and pointed out that "they are sensitive and tremble at criticism."
On the 27th, Ahn held a dialogue on his YouTube channel with Professor Seo about the government’s response to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
He criticized, "Only one-third of the way to the end of COVID remains, yet the president spoke of its end," adding, "There is no need for short-term hopeful messages like ‘It will end’ or ‘The number of confirmed cases will drop below 100 soon.’"
He also said, "The current administration is seriously infected with corruption virus, gangster virus, and arrogance virus," and criticized, "They do not consider right or wrong. ‘If you are on our side, you are innocent’ is the only criterion."
Targeting former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk and current Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae, he sarcastically called them the "Emperor of cheating" and the "Queen of privilege."
When Ahn asked Professor Seo how much he had been subjected to ‘yangnyeom’ (comment attacks) by so-called ‘Ddaekae-moon’ (a derogatory term for those who unconditionally support President Moon Jae-in), Seo replied, "I was completely covered in yangnyeom to the point that my facial features were barely visible, but now I have removed some of the yangnyeom around my eyes, so I can see ahead."
Professor Seo referred to President Moon Jae-in’s fervent supporters as a ‘fandom’ and said, "Politics should be conducted for the entire nation, but the fandom operates too strongly," adding, "It reminds me of China’s Cultural Revolution."
