SK Broadband Hosts Social Value 'Gonggam' Video Contest


[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] SK Broadband announced on the 27th that it will hold the 'Social Value Empathy Video Contest,' where anyone nationwide can directly create and submit videos.


This contest is the first project of the Media Creation Support Center established by SK Broadband to realize regional characteristics in broadcasting following the merger with T-broad. The video contest themes are divided into three areas that require regionality and social empathy to realize the social values pursued by SK Group.


These are 'Beautiful Generation Empathy,' focusing on seniors' pursuit of happiness and intergenerational communication; 'Wise Empathy Life,' dealing with win-win cooperation between large corporations and small business owners; and 'Happy Daily Empathy,' aimed at resolving regional and social disparities. Videos within 15 minutes are acceptable regardless of genre or format.


There are no restrictions on age, region, or gender. Videos and entry application forms should be submitted via email to the contest manager (krmedia@krmedia.org) by October 30. The entry application form can be downloaded from the National Media Center Council website (www.krmedia.org).


Through judging, a total of 19 works will be selected in mid-November for the Grand Prize, Excellence Award, and Encouragement Award, with total prize money of 19.5 million KRW. Winning works will be specially scheduled on regional channels.


The Media Creation Support Center is scheduled to launch at the end of October in 10 regions nationwide (Seoul, Nowon, Suwon, Cheonan, Daegu, Jeonju, Incheon, Busan, etc.). Ko Young-ho, Head of SK Broadband CATV Business Division, said, "We hope this contest will be an opportunity for citizens to actively communicate about regional social issues through media and for the regional media ecosystem to be revitalized."
