Cluster infections occurring everywhere... COVID-19 spread continues

[Asia Economy Reporter Sung Kiho] Cluster outbreaks of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) continue in nursing hospitals and daycare centers.


The Central Disease Control Headquarters (CDCH) announced on the 26th at 12 PM that a total of 9 confirmed cases have been reported in connection with DY Development in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. After the first confirmed case on the 18th, 8 additional cases were confirmed during the contact investigation process.


Confirmed cases continue to occur steadily at existing cluster infection facilities in Seoul. In connection with the Yemarudaycare Center in Dobong-gu, one more confirmed case was added, bringing the total to 19. In the case of the Sarangnamu Daycare Center infection in Gwanak-gu, one more case was added, increasing the total confirmed cases to 7.


Also, in connection with the Seonggyeong gathering in Dongdaemun-gu, one more person was confirmed positive, bringing the total to 19 so far, and in relation to Daewoo Dioville Plus in Gangnam-gu, two more people were infected, raising the total confirmed cases to 48.


Regarding the Sammos Porex sauna in Gwanak-gu, 4 additional confirmed cases were reported, bringing the total number of positive cases to 23. In Incheon, 2 more cases were added in connection with Saengmyeonggil Church in Gyeyang-gu, increasing the total to 9. In Jeonbuk, 7 more people tested positive in connection with the office in Inhwa-dong, Iksan-si, bringing the cumulative confirmed cases to 17.


The proportion of patients with unknown infection routes has dropped below 25% in the past two weeks.


Among the 1,461 new confirmed cases reported from the 13th to today, 359 cases are still under investigation for infection routes, accounting for 24.6%. This is slightly lower than the previous day (24.9%).
