[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Former People Power Party lawmaker Kim Jin-tae stated on the 25th, "I will not go out to Gwanghwamun this National Foundation Day," adding, "I suggested an alternative to hold it as a drive-thru, but the regime rose up like a swarm of bees and said that is not allowed either."

On Facebook that day, former lawmaker Kim said, "They seem ready to arrest those who want to stay inside their cars with the doors closed as the main culprits of the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19)," adding, "I have never seen such fear politics in my life."

Kim criticized, "The regime is now cornered by economic failures and successive scandals involving its members. In particular, the shooting and killing of a public official on Socheongpyeongdo Island marks the peak," and said, "This regime plainly watched as citizens were shot and their bodies burned. There has never been a government like this in history."

He added, "The regime never admits its mistakes. Rather, it will look for scapegoats to divert attention from their failures," and said, "That could be me or patriotic citizens."

Former lawmaker Kim said, "This time, let's not gather in the square but fight with texts and comments from wherever we are," and added, "The opportunity will come soon. Let's show real strength then."
