Nowon-gu Distributes Signage for Maintaining Table Spacing in Restaurants and Bakeries

Effective Social Distancing Encouraged Through Signage Indicating Table Spacing Under Level 2 Measures... Distributed During Compliance Inspections at Restaurants, Bakeries, and Franchise Stores

Nowon-gu Distributes Signage for Maintaining Table Spacing in Restaurants and Bakeries

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Nowon-gu (District Mayor Oh Seung-rok) will distribute seat guidance signs to 4,995 local businesses, including restaurants, cafes, and bakeries, to maintain table spacing.

The guidance signs indicate seats and tables that must be left empty and are placed in other necessary locations to ensure spacing is maintained even without separate instructions. Made of triangular prism-shaped paper material, they are recyclable upon disposal.

The district decided to distribute the guidance signs to assist restaurants, bakeries, and franchise stores over 150m², where social distancing level 2 due to COVID-19 requires maintaining distance between tables and users.

If the same design of guidance signs is installed in all stores and businesses, it will be effective in practicing social distancing, and users will feel reassured knowing that the businesses are properly following quarantine rules.

The distribution will be carried out by district office staff, life quarantine workers active in Nowon-gu, and youth hope job supporters recruited to overcome the economic downturn and employment crisis caused by COVID-19, while guiding and inspecting quarantine rules. The first phase of distribution to 615 mandatory compliance businesses has been completed, and the second phase began on the 18th targeting the remaining 4,380 businesses.

Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, said, “More than ever, many shops are going through difficult times due to COVID-19. Even in this severe situation, we will not hesitate to provide even small support to protect the local economy by complying with quarantine guidelines, and we will listen carefully to the opinions of many business owners.”
