[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Chaehyun Il) is hosting a non-face-to-face "Small Business Leaders Academy" for local small business owners and prospective entrepreneurs.
The Leaders Academy is a program jointly hosted by the district and the Yeongdeungpo-gu Small and Medium Enterprise and Small Business Association, and organized by the Korea Federation of SMEs, aimed at cultivating the management capabilities of local small business owners and revitalizing neighborhood commercial districts. It began in 2009 and has produced 100 graduates annually.
The academy course, starting with an opening ceremony on October 8, will run from October 15 to December 3, every Thursday from 4 PM for two hours. To prevent COVID-19 infection, the education will be conducted online using mobile devices and PCs.
The curriculum includes essential knowledge for management and customer service satisfaction methods. Additionally, experts on each topic will deliver lectures incorporating real cases and practical knowledge to help students understand beyond theory.
Main educational topics include ▲Tenant rights under the revised Commercial Building Lease Protection Act ▲Practical digital marketing strategies ▲Tax saving and tax risk management ▲Essential labor laws.
Moreover, training on humor management and stress management will be provided to enhance students' management skills.
After completing the program, exemplary students will receive certificates of commendation, and those attending six or more classes will be granted membership in the Yeongdeungpo-gu Small and Medium Enterprise and Small Business Association.
Any local small business owner or prospective entrepreneur interested can participate. Fifty participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, and the education is free of charge.
Residents wishing to apply can visit the Job and Economy Division (80 Seonyu-dong 1-ro, 1st floor) or the Yeongdeungpo-gu Small Business Association (759 Gyeongin-ro, 4th floor) by September 29, or apply by fax.
Application forms are posted on the district website under "Yeongdeungpo News." Applicants other than prospective entrepreneurs must submit a copy of their business registration certificate.
