Green Light for Construction of Jinan-gun Family Center

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Tae-in] The ‘Family Center Construction’ project promoted by Jinan-gun has gained momentum as the shared property management plan (draft) was passed at the Jinan-gun Council on the 23rd.

According to the county on the 24th, the ‘Jinan-gun Family Center Construction’ project was finally selected in the 2021 Living SOC Complex Public Contest announced by the Prime Minister’s Office, and 1.5 billion KRW in national funding has already been secured accordingly.

Also, with the passage at the 264th extraordinary session of the Jinan-gun Council, active promotion of the project has become possible.

The county plans to invest a total project cost of about 4.7 billion KRW to construct a new building with three above-ground floors and a total floor area of 1,380㎡ on a site near the social welfare center in front of Jinan Elementary School, with completion expected in 2022.

The Family Center will be equipped with a Dahamkke Care Center, a Shared Childcare Space, and communication areas, performing basic functions such as counseling, education, and care, and will also create a multipurpose space where neighbors and generations can communicate and interact with each other.

Jeon Chun-seong, the governor of Jinan-gun, said, “Through the construction of the Family Center, we will be able to provide comprehensive family welfare services tailored to the increasingly diverse family types, members, and family life cycle needs.” He added, “Our county, which has ranked high in birth rates for several years, will also create an environment where children can be born and raised well.”
