[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] Bob Woodward, the investigative journalist famous for the 'Watergate' scandal, has released a bestseller titled Rage, which contains 18 interviews with U.S. President Donald Trump.

The old saying that books critical of President Trump succeed commercially has been proven once again.

According to the Associated Press on the 23rd (local time), Rage sold over 600,000 copies in its first week and ranked number one on Amazon.com and other platforms.

This figure includes hardcover, audiobook, and e-book sales combined.

Simon & Schuster, the publisher of Rage, also announced that the book will enter its fourth printing, with a total print run expected to reach 1.3 million copies.

In Rage, Woodward revealed that President Trump was aware of the severity of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) but failed to properly inform the public.

Additionally, Rage contains President Trump’s assessments of North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un and behind-the-scenes stories of the two North Korea?U.S. summits.

The success of Rage has drawn attention to the trend that books critical of President Trump consistently become bestsellers.

Mary Trump, President Trump’s niece, sold 950,000 copies of her book Too Much and Never Enough on its first day alone.

This book claims that President Trump’s psychology resembles that of a psychopath and is abnormal.

Greenwood’s book Fear, which depicts the dysfunction within the Trump administration, also sold over one million copies in its first week.

Other bestsellers include former White House National Security Advisor John Bolton’s memoir The Room Where It Happened and Michael Cohen’s Disloyal: A Memoir, the latter being the personal lawyer and former personal assistant to President Trump.
