KOTRA Holds 'K-Quarantine Business Meeting to Strengthen Export Vitality'

[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The global market for protective and quarantine supplies is rapidly growing due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). KOTRA announced on the 24th that it held the 'K-Quarantine Business Meeting to Strengthen Export Vitality' on the 23rd. Ten of our small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies manufacturing and exporting diagnostic kits, personal protective equipment, thermometers, ventilators, and more attended the meeting.

KOTRA presented the 'market trends' of 10 regions with large cumulative COVID-19 confirmed cases and significant imports of quarantine supplies, based on surveys conducted through 28 overseas trade centers, and gathered opinions from participating companies.

Company O, which manufactures COVID-19 diagnostic equipment, stated, "Due to COVID-19, we are conducting virtually all business through online and non-face-to-face methods," and added, "We expect to expand export volume based on KOTRA's emergency branch office service and the online special pavilion project."

Export beginner company K said, "If local market information such as certification and pricing becomes more substantial, companies taking their first steps in export will be able to receive greater help in opening trade channels."
