The 'Seoul Tourism Promotional Video' created in collaboration between BTS and the Seoul Metropolitan Government has set a record by reaching 100 million views within just 10 days of its release.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government and Seoul Tourism Foundation announced on the 24th that the Seoul tourism promotional video, released on the 11th, has achieved a total of 100,893,115 views as of midnight on the 21st, including countdown videos for each BTS member. This is the shortest record since the promotional videos for Seoul tourism began in 2017.
The video is gaining over 10 million views daily on average, and if this trend continues, it is expected to surpass 200 million views soon.
As much as the high view count, the response to the promotional video is also enthusiastic. Among the approximately 157,000 comments, one can glimpse the expectations and hopes of global Hallyu fans for traveling to Seoul. Positive reactions such as "I learned about the beauty of Seoul through BTS" and "I definitely want to visit Seoul as my first overseas trip" stand out, along with witty comments like "See you in Seoul. I'm swimming across the Pacific to get to Korea" and "I will work hard to go to Seoul. When I save enough money, I will visit Seoul someday."
The Seoul Metropolitan Government and Seoul Tourism Foundation will express their gratitude to the fans who made this record possible by holding events such as 'Find I·LOVE·SEOUL in the promotional video' and 'High-definition video download' with generous prizes until October 30th.
The making-of video, scheduled to be released from the 28th, will include behind-the-scenes footage of the promotional video shoot and candid moments of BTS members. Additionally, it will show the process of creating the best video, featuring the stunning cityscape of Seoul as a backdrop, the stylish appearances of BTS members, and world-class video technology.
Joo Yong-tae, Director of Tourism and Sports Bureau of Seoul, said, "Although it is unfortunate that we cannot meet each other now due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), I hope that global Hallyu fans will travel Seoul virtually and dream of Seoul while watching the Seoul tourism promotional video with BTS."
