[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Samsung Electronics' Galaxy S20 FE is characterized by lowering the price burden compared to the Galaxy S20, while rather improving specifications such as the battery and front camera.
On the 23rd, Samsung Electronics held 'Galaxy Unpacked for All Fans' online and unveiled the Galaxy S20 FE. In Korea, pre-orders will start from October 6, and it will be officially released in mid-October.
The price of the Galaxy S20 FE has not been disclosed, but it is expected to be released in the high 800,000 KRW range or the low 900,000 KRW range. Compared to the Galaxy S20's price of 1,248,500 KRW, it will be released at least 300,000 KRW cheaper. The Galaxy S20 FE is aimed at the younger generation who value cost-effectiveness; it will be more expensive than the A series but is expected to be the lowest priced among the S series.
The Galaxy S20 FE is a medium size between the Galaxy S20 and S20+. It is 6.5 inches, larger than the 6.2 inches of the Galaxy S20 but smaller than the 6.7 inches of the S20+. The size of the S20 FE is 74.5 x 159.8 x 8.4 mm, with a slightly shorter height and thicker thickness than the Galaxy S20 (69.1 x 151.7 x 7.9). The weight is 190g, which is 27g heavier than the Galaxy S20 (163g).
The battery capacity is 4500mAh, which is 500mAh more than the Galaxy S20 (4000mAh). The RAM capacity is 6GB, lower than the Galaxy S20 (12GB), but the memory is the same at 128GB. Both models support 25W super-fast charging. The Galaxy S20 FE takes less than 30 minutes to charge from 0% to 50%.
The front camera of the Galaxy S20 FE (32MP) is superior to that of the Galaxy S20 (10MP). The rear camera has lower specifications than the Galaxy S20 but has a larger sensor. The Galaxy S20 FE's rear camera is equipped with a triple camera: 12MP main (F1.8), 12MP ultra-wide (F2.2), and 8MP telephoto (F2.4). It supports clear photo shooting with a dual-pixel image sensor. The Galaxy S20 is equipped with a 64MP telephoto (F2.0) lens, 12MP wide-angle (F1.8), and 12MP ultra-wide (F2.2) lenses.
The color options for the Galaxy S20 FE are also more diverse. In Korea, it will be released in five colors: Cloud Red, Lavender, Mint, Navy, and White. The Galaxy S20 was released in White, Gray, Blue, Red, and Pink colors.
