Professor Jang Yunkyung of Honam University Awarded Gwangju Mayor's Commendation for 'Local Health Guardian Activities'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Professor Jang Yoon-kyung of the Department of Nursing at Honam University received a commendation from the Mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City for her 'local health guardian activities.'

According to Honam University on the 23rd, Professor Jang was recognized for her contribution to improving the quality of life of residents through integrated dementia management services and for contributing to the development of the local community on the occasion of the 13th Dementia Overcoming Day.

Professor Jang has been operating various education and campaigns to improve dementia awareness, as well as university student supporters for infectious disease prevention in the community, in collaboration with the Gwangju City and Gwangsan-gu Dementia Safety Centers.

She has promoted industry-academia cooperation activities for a healthy and happy local community and has passionately played the role of a health guardian, focusing on vulnerable areas in the community.

Since 2016, she has also been conducting university student global citizenship education and a global health education picture book project with Gwangsan-gu to strengthen 'youth global citizenship.'

She published health education picture books that can be practically used domestically and in underdeveloped countries on topics such as oral health (Mr. Brush Brush), handwashing (Benny's Secret), and adult literacy, and used these picture books to carry out various health education activities targeting domestic health-vulnerable groups and underdeveloped countries overseas.
