Gwangju Bukbu Fire Station Launches 'Special Alert Duty' to Ensure Citizen Safety During Chuseok Holiday

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Bukbu Fire Station (Chief Lee Wonyong) announced on the 23rd that it will enter 'special alert duty' from the 29th of this month to the 5th of next month to prevent disaster accidents and ensure rapid initial response during the Chuseok holiday period.

During this special alert duty period, 296 firefighters, 260 volunteer firefighters, and 45 pieces of equipment including fire pump vehicles will be mobilized.

Under the leadership of the fire station chief, a 24-hour fire prevention monitoring system for fire-vulnerable targets will be established to strengthen the initial response system through on-site response and situation management. Patrol activities to secure fire lanes in traditional markets and areas obstructing firefighting activities will be intensified to at least three times a day.

Additionally, before Chuseok, non-face-to-face fire safety consulting and on-site guidance will be promoted based on the voluntary safety inspection results of 30 multi-use facilities within the jurisdiction.

On the day of the Chuseok holiday, an ambulance will be deployed to respond to sudden emergencies of visitors paying respects at Mangwol Cemetery in Buk-gu.

Lee Wonyong, chief of Bukbu Fire Station, said, “We will do our best to protect the precious lives and property of citizens during the Chuseok holiday through fire prevention and a rapid response system.”
