[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Bodyfriend announced on the 23rd that it has installed safety sensors and carried out functional improvements and advancements on all its massage chair products equipped with automatic leg rest.

According to a survey released that day by the Korea Consumer Agency, among massage chair products with clearance between the knees and feet, Bodyfriend's 'BFX 7000' was the only product equipped with a pinch detection sensor. It was also confirmed that there is no possibility of pinching the head or torso of infants and toddlers, which could potentially lead to serious accidents.

Bodyfriend has been applying safety sensors to massage chairs for several years to reduce the risk of accidents such as pinching involving infants, toddlers, or pets. Currently marketed Bodyfriend massage chair products are set to immediately stop operation and open the relevant part by a certain length when the sensor detects situations that could cause safety accidents such as pinching during use. In particular, Bodyfriend explained that other products that do not open the space between the knees and feet are evaluated as even safer.
