Focused Promotion on Consumption and Investment Sectors Closely Related to Citizens' Daily Lives
[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City is making every effort to accelerate fiscal spending in the second half of the year to revitalize the local economy, which has been stagnant due to the impact of COVID-19.
On the 21st, the city held a 2020 second half rapid fiscal spending briefing at the Vice Mayor’s office to revitalize the shrinking local economy and improve the efficiency of fiscal management.
The briefing, chaired by Vice Mayor Kwak Seunggi, was attended by heads of various departments and divisions.
During the briefing, the second half spending plan, issues related to underperforming projects, and measures to improve performance were discussed in depth.
Additionally, with the upcoming major national holiday Chuseok, all departments agreed to push forward rapid local fiscal spending in the second half with a sense of urgency.
In particular, the policy is to focus on spending for major investment projects over 100 million won that have a significant ripple effect on the local economy and are closely related to citizens’ daily lives.
Vice Mayor Kwak Seunggi urged, “Through strategic rapid fiscal spending, we aim to prevent poor construction in winter and the year-end practice of reckless budget execution, and I ask all staff to take an interest and proceed with speed to revitalize the local economy.”
