[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] On the 22nd, the "2020 Gyeongnam Lifelong Education Promotion and Local Talent Development Contest Project Mid-term Report Meeting," supported by Gyeongsangnam-do and hosted by the Gyeongsangnam-do Lifelong Education Promotion Institute, was held in the seminar room on the 1st floor of the Gyeongnam Research Institute.

At the report meeting, about 30 people including consulting committee members, officials from the Gyeongsangnam-do Lifelong Education Promotion Institute, and related organizations attended to review the progress of the contest project and hold a consulting session on future directions.

The contest project is an annual project hosted by the Gyeongsangnam-do Lifelong Education Promotion Institute, aiming to improve the quality of life of residents, activate lifelong education, and further provide opportunities for job acquisition.

The main contents include lifelong education promotion projects such as ▲ establishment of a lifelong education platform linking cities/counties and universities (2 projects) ▲ support projects for lifelong education for the disabled (2 projects), and local talent development projects such as ▲ support projects linking local learning-type jobs (7 projects) ▲ support projects for job transitions by life course (4 projects), with a total of about 2,700 people participating in the education.

The consulting group noted that this contest project is meaningful in that it lays the basic foundation for residents to participate in learning through a lifelong learning promotion system by life cycle, and suggested that the establishment of a lifelong learning platform is necessary through continued support in the future.

Accordingly, the Gyeongsangnam-do Lifelong Education Promotion Institute plans to supplement the project by reflecting the opinions of the attendees at the mid-term report meeting and hold a final performance report meeting and project evaluation in December when the contest project is completed.

Min Ki-sik, head of the Provincial Integrated Education Promotion Team, stated, "Through the foundation corporation Gyeongsangnam-do Lifelong Education Promotion Institute scheduled to launch in April next year, we will firmly establish a network with cities/counties and local lifelong education institutions to promote lifelong learning that meets the needs of residents."
