[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Gyeongsangnam-do is selecting outstanding projects that demonstrated excellent collaboration and governance among policies and projects conducted in the first half of 2020.
Governor Kim Kyung-soo emphasized the collaboration and governance system, stating, "In this era of rapid change, administration alone cannot accomplish everything. We must consider how to utilize the driving force of the private sector and form networks to solve problems together."
In line with this, the Provincial Government Innovation Promotion Team formed a collaboration and governance support group composed of experts from the private sector, government, and academia in 2020, and on the 21st, received advice and evaluation on the province's collaborative administrative progress.
The collaboration and governance group evaluated that through the review of 27 collaborative and governance projects conducted by various departments of Gyeongnam Province, Gyeongnam has established a new policy system that builds governance in cooperation with the private sector across diverse fields such as youth, education, employment, and agriculture, working together from the start to the completion of policies.
They encouraged that this collaborative system plays a significant role in creating a new society by local governments and requested continuous discovery of collaboration and governance projects through active communication with residents.
Meanwhile, through this non-face-to-face evaluation, 10 projects out of 27 were selected, and they will be evaluated by residents through Gyeongnam 1beonga, where anyone can participate in the evaluation and each participant can select up to three projects.
Kim Sang-won, head of the Gyeongnam Provincial Government Innovation Promotion Team, stated, "With the introduction of non-face-to-face administration due to COVID-19, a new paradigm is being presented in the administrative field. Therefore, various problems that cannot be solved by the existing administrative problem-solving method centered on the responsible department and person are accumulating. We ask for active participation in the Gyeongnam 1beonga resident evaluation so that collaboration can be promoted from the residents' perspective."
