[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Joo Ho-young, floor leader of the People Power Party, stated on the 22nd, "I asked the Blue House to show respect to the President. We will maintain respect," and added, "It would be good if the President also shows respect to the people."

At a virtual party meeting that afternoon, Floor Leader Joo said, "Fairness is necessary in all areas, but especially for those in the position of judges, it can never be overemphasized," and "Regarding Jo Seong-dae, the nominee for the Central Election Commission recommended by the Democratic Party of Korea, we cannot help but raise questions about his neutrality and fairness."

Floor Leader Joo emphasized, "Even now, I hope the Democratic Party withdraws the nomination and replaces him with someone truly neutral and fair."

He added, "Elections are the most important channel for exercising popular sovereignty, and the Election Commission's neutrality and fairness are vital," and said, "Candidate Jo claimed that he possesses the essential qualities of maintaining a high degree of neutrality without bias toward any particular party or faction. It would be good if he judges for himself whether this is true and decides on his position accordingly."
